The head of state conducted a visit to address Ukrainian forces in the Pokrovsk area on Tuesday. He stated that he met with warriors at the command post of the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is leading defense efforts in the Dobropillya area, a location approximately 20km from Pokrovsk.

Critical Situation in the Region

Recent mapping from a Ukrainian project showed that invading troops had advanced deeper into Pokrovsk and its environs, though a large portion remained beyond firm control by both forces. The situation remains critical, with accounts indicating that Russian forces were fortifying positions and strengthening posts in various sectors.

Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk front and seem to be functioning with growing ease within the city proper.

Analysts observed that defense units had recaptured substantial territory of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya area, on the east side of the Pokrovsk operation.

Ukrainian Aerial Attacks Deep Inside the Federation

National unmanned aircraft attacked an industrial plant approximately over 800 miles inside the federation at Sterlitamak. City administration reported an explosion at the Sterlitamak facility that caused its water treatment facility to partially collapse, adding that the origin of the detonation was not known. The armed forces leadership stated there was considerable damage to the complex.

Ukraine's military reported hitting a petroleum facility at the city in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region to the east of the capital. The extent of the damage was being assessed. The local official verified an assault by numerous aerial vehicles near Kstovo.

Russian Defense Policy Changes

National guard personnel will now have to protect fuel facilities against Ukrainian drone strikes after Vladimir Putin signed a law on the start of the week expanding their participation in the military campaign. The head of state also signed a law allowing military conscription continuously whereas previously it was possible only during restricted intervals in cooler seasons. Moscow legally bars draftees from being deployed to combat, but after their armed forces duty they join the reserve forces, exposing them to potential of being deployed to conflict.

Heavy military spending have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with authorities hiking rates to plug a rising deficit.

The President's Appeals for Allied Help

The Ukrainian president urged the US to stay receptive to providing Ukraine with long-range weapons. Speaking at an EU meeting from the conflict zone, the head of state also requested more western sanctions on Russia – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he sought accession to the union before 2030.

Global Assistance and Diplomatic Developments

Germany plans to raise its military aid to the eastern European country by three billion euros next year to about 11.5 billion euros, the finance ministry in the capital said on the weekday. This comprises, among other things, artillery, unmanned aircraft, armoured vehicles and the exchange of missile defense equipment.

Nordic ammunition manufacturer the corporation has established a cooperation framework with a local manufacturing firm to manufacture, create and distribute munitions in the country.

Italy called in the Russian diplomat on the start of the week to object to what it said were offensive, troubling and unacceptable statements by Russian diplomatic representative who connected the fatal incident of a structure in Italy to the country's armed aid for the eastern European nation. The Italian foreign minister stated that the country would not change its foreign policy stance or its standards in answer to careless statements. The Moscow's representation later posted condolences for the demise of a Romanian worker in the collapse but seized the moment to complain that the angry response to the comments was prejudiced toward the federation.
