I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really happening.
